Basic and Applied Ecology Special Issue on Plant population biology in a changing world

The 28th volume of Basic and Applied Ecology, published in May 2018, features a special issue on “Plant population biology in a changing world” to celebrate the 30th anniversary (in 2017) of the GfÖ working group Plant Population Biology, also known as PopBio. The eight articles in this issue are based on contributions to the PopBio 2017 annual meeting in Halle which was organized by researchers from UFZ, iDiv and the University of Halle. Among others, the special issue includes studies on life history evolution, biotic interactions, plant responses to climate, and on the genetic and phenotypic diversity and local adaptation of plant populations. The diversity of these topics reflects the PopBio working group’s scientific interests.

The PopBio working group has held its 31st annual meeting in May 2018 in Innsbruck and will convene again on 23-25 May 2019 in Warsaw. For more information on PopBio, please visit the website or contact Niek Scheepens (niek.scheepens@biologie.uni-tuebingen.de).
